Somehow over these past few months, I am obsessed with lip crayons. They are cute, convenient and multifunctional (lip colour and balm in one product).
Natta Cosme is kind enough to let me try Taiwanese version of lip crayons: Miss Hana Lip Balm Crayon. They are a hybrid of lip balm and lip colour that is light weight and packaged into this convenient crayon shape.
These lip crayons are described to keep your lips well-moisturised and protected from harsh and dry environments while giving your lips a tinge of natural colour. Hands up if you are like me who want both hydrated and cute luscious looking lips at the same time.
Miss Hana Lip Balm Crayon is especially for ladies that spend hours under office air-conditioning, which tends to leave your lips and skin dry, resulting in chapped lips. Packed with ingredients like Rosa Fruit Oil, Aloe Leaf extract and Vitamin E, this moisture-rich formula helps repair dehydrated lips instantly. With several colours to choose from, you can easily achieve a natural lip colour, and repair your dry and damaged lips as well!
My first impression was this is one cute lip crayon, the packaging reminds me a lot of my childhood’s crayons. But the size is not too huge and bulky unlike some other lip crayons. Hence it is easy to keep in my purse. I love that the colour on the packaging matched the product inside. That way it is easy to pick the shades you fancy on the day.
On first application, I did it on my bare lips as I want to test the full moisturising effect of the lip crayon -> It felts hydrating and moist just like a lip balm.
It is light weighted, have a nice sweet bubblegum-like scent and with pointed tips, it is easy to swipe from one corner to the other following the contour my lips.
The pigmentation is sheer to medium, more pigmented than a normal tinted lip balm. As I have pigmented lips, the colour doesn’t really show off as brightly with only 1 swipe. However, you can build the colour with extra layers. Love that you can apply it two ways – sheer: perfect for young girls at school or college as lightly tinted lip colours, or build it up for a full lip colour. I think I can definitely use this daily at home, going to the nearby kedai runcit (Hey, you still want to look good for the makcik next door) or even before I go out of the house.
This only lasted 6 hours top without any eating or drinking. But I had to reapply after 2-3 hours to get the balm-y effect. I don’t mind really since it is like a 2-second touch up job. Besides that, you have to sharpen these cute lip crayon (just like the real thing). (No sharpener, you said? Keep reading till then for a special surprise)
There are 5 shades of Miss Hana Lip Balm Crayon available:
01 Purple Sakura Season – Blue toned bubblegum pink that is perfect for fair skin tone
02 New York Uptown Pink Girl – Rosy pink hue that is perfect for any skin tone
03 Orange Twilight – as the name suggest it is a orange tint with a sheer finish, very subtle lip colour
04 Peach Champs-Elysees – the other sheer finish shade that is a soft corally pink
05 Moulin Rouge Diva – orange red shade that is complementary to yellow skin tone like me
My favourites would be 05 Moulin Rouge Diva. It brighten up my lips beautifully as the same time still hydrating. I think this perfect for everyday
