I felt like January just passed by pretty quickly. I wanted to share with you, my readers, my at-home spa essentials. They are products that I have been really loving for this month for my own D.I.Y spa. I like to do it routinely (every weekend) because your body and skin need TLC every once in a while. It is more cost effective to do-it-youself at home. I really appreciate the luxury of time doing my own spa at home. Not really fond of that short 1 – 1/12 hour of rushed facial/spa).
Setting the Mood
Bath and Body Works Harvest Gathering
To start the mood, I love the scented candle from …… yup, you’ve guessed it: Bath and Body Works!
I am loving Bath and Body Works 3-wick candle in Harvest Gathering, which is part of their White Barn collection, as it smells heavenly and set the mood for at-home spa party. Harvest Gathering is warm and gives out a cosy, homey feeling. A crisp autumn-y scent that is perfect for relaxing especially setting up the at-home-spa mood.
There’s so many options from BBW, I am sure there is a scent that is suitable for every girls out there.

At-home spa Hair Essentials
Matrix Biolage Shampoo Colorlast (Orchid)
I love colouring my hair for fun. (part of memikat hati suami trick) Coloured hair needs special TLC. I think using Matrix Biolage Shampoo Orchid especially designed for colored hair is great. I usually start by washing my hair and really massage the scalp, using the tips of fingers, applying acupressure and this really helps with hair growth and reduce my sensitive scalp problem.
Matrix Biolage shampoo is inspired by the anti-fade properties of vibrant Orchid, it helps protect the hair, balance moisture and even out the hair’s surface for saturated, shiny and vibrant colour that stays truer. It contains no parabens and low pH, it purifies as it helps prolong colour vibrancy.
Colorlast range also features its conditioner and hair mask.
L’oreal Paris Professional Hair Spa Nourishing Creambath
After thorough washing of hair, I love using a hair mask. My new favourite for 2015 is not so new but I still love it to death is: L’Oreal Paris Professional Hair Spa Nourshing Creambath for dry and damaged hair. I particularly love using this as a hair mask. As this is designed as a creambath, I can apply this all over the hair, massaging from roots to tips. I like to let the hair mask sit for about 15-30 minutes (while I’m scrubbing my body/wash my body) before rinsing my hair. This definitely makes my hair feels so silky smooth and soft.
Hair Oil Treatment
Matrix Biolage Exquisite Oil
After patting my hair dry, I would use Matrix Biolage Exquisite Oil to further nourish my hair ends. You can use the Matrix Exquisite Oil on wet or dry hair. It will still give the soft and smooth hair with the shine that every girls crave.
This replenishing treatment contains Moringa Oil blend, one of nature’s potent antioxidant oils. This exclusive blend of natural micro-oils penetrate directly into the hair cuticle without weighing the hair down. Dull, lackluster hair is replenished and brought back to life with mutidimensional shine.
At-home spa Body Essentials
Naturals by Watsons Argan Oil Body Scrub
It is important to scrub your old flaky dead skin off and I like to use a gentle exfoliator like Naturals by Watsons Argan Oil Body Scrub. It contains certified Avocado Oil and Wheat Germ Oil too, nourishing the skin while removing the dead skin gently.

After scrubbing all the impurities and dead skin, I am not particularly fussed on which body wash I would use. As long as it smells heavenly.
The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Body Butter
Argan Oil is one of the secret ingredients that was said to be able to revive your skin from being dry and coarse (just like the surface of dessert) to smooth, soft, moisturised skin. The Body Shop uses the highest quality Argan Oil all the way from Morrocco to create this luxurious body butter. I particularly love this one as the scent is quite subtle (unlike The Body Shop Shea butter body butter) and the texture is so rich and blends into the skin easily.
Another cheaper option would be Naturals by Watsons Argan Oil Body Lotion which bear same luxurious benefits of Argan Oil too.
At-home spa Facial Essentials
St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub
Not only your body, your delicate facial skin also needs the scrub-dubbin’. This particular brand contains salicylic acid, a known acne medication, to help prevent blemishes and minimise pores while removing all the impurities and unclogging the pores. This is a 100% natural exfoliants that does not contains sulfates or parabens. However, the exfoliation is pretty deep. It is pretty harsh for those with sensitive skin.
Garnier Sakura White Pinkish Radiance Facial Foam
After facial scrub, I love to follow up with a softer cleansing routine. Right now, my favourite would be Garnier Sakura White Pinkish Radiance Facial Foam. The scent is heavenly, the soft foam glides smoothly while cleansing my skin without drying.
I have done a in-depth review on this facial foam and includes a demo. Click HERE to read about that.
Nature Republic Snail Solution Hydrogel Mask Sheet
After patting my skin dry with a soft facial towel, I love giving my skin a special at-home facial using a facial mask. Nature Republic Snail Solution Hydrogel Mask Sheet contains purified snail slime essence which has anti-aging and moisturising properties that is great for the skin.
The mask actually has two pieces of hydrogel: one for the upper part of the face, and another is for the bottom part of the face. So this ensures the mask would fit every face shapes. The hydrogel felt cooling and fit snuggly on my face which pretty interesting. There is no dripping of essence with kinda-waste for certain sheet masks but hydrogel holds the essence and delivers into the skin more effectively.
If you like a more typical sheet mask that has a strong moisturising power, i would recommend Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Mask by Indeed Labs.
I have done a thorough review and demo on Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Mask by Indeed Labs before in my blog. Click HERE to read my full REVIEW.
Garnier Sakura White Pinkish Radiance Moisturising Cream
My favourite serum/moisturiser for my at-home facial at the moment is Garnier Sakura White Pinkish Radiance Moisturising Cream. Beside giving my skin back much needed moisture, it helps brighten and improve skin radiance.

At-home Hand & Nail Care Essentials
Do not ever neglect the hand and nail care as it is part of your beauty regime too.
L’Occitane En Provence Arle’sienne Velvet Hand Cream
My hair is now silky smooth. My body is soft and moisturised. Facial is done and to complete my at-home-spa day, I would apply a hydrating and nourishing hand cream so my hand stayed soft and moisturised. L’Occitane En Provence Arle’sienne Velvet Hand Cream is my number one choice as L’Occitane hand cream has always done its job perfectly.
It is enriched with moisturizing agents of natural origin, this velvet cream helps to nourish and soften hands. The inspiration was the elegant and gracious woman of Arles – the Arlésienne – is embodied in this feminine fusion of three flowers. Elusive and mysterious, she leaves in her wake a unique trail that lingers wherever she goes.
After rubbing the hand cream in between my hands, I closed my eyes, and put my cupped hands near my nose and inhale deeply. To me, this is my favourite part as I inhale the Arlésienne vibrant aroma: bouquet of rose, sweet violet and saffron. My kinda-aromatherapy to the whole at-home spa experience.
Bisou Bon Bon Cuticle Kiss
To end the perfect at-home spa day, You will need a cuticle oil/cream. I love using Bisou Bon Bon Cuticle Kiss. As cute as this little spa companion, it is massively packed with various natural ingredients: Avocado oil, Jojoba oil, Shea butter, Cocoa butter, Calendula oil, Camellia oil and Rose hip oil, to name a few. This perfect blends of natural ingredients nourish and hydrates the cuticles with easy application. Just massage a small amount over the cuticles and nail and you are good to go.
These are my essential products to start a healthy, consistent beauty regime for 2015. Do share your favourites down in the comment below.
