The first month of the year has ended and I am excited to share with you guys what I have been loving in January 2016.
At first I thought I would change my skincare/makeup routine game for the new year but I ended up using a similar products from December. One of the big reasons is that I love using all the products that works well during my pregnancy and I sorta just continue using my favourites throughout January.
Having said that, here are beauty products that I have enjoyed using for the past month.
Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil Spray
I have not mentioned this before but I have been absolutely enjoying this oil spray for the last 2-3 months. I love how convenient it is to just spray about 10cm away from the skin and slowly massage it. It smells heavenly (Rosehip oil) and absorb into the skin quickly. My pregnant skin loves oil as it moisturises way better than normal body butter or body lotion. It does not leave your skin greasy at all. It absorbed well, leaving a smooth soft skin.
During the day, if I am in a hurry (going to work of course) I would spray this on my belly as a quick stretch mark prevention routine and use the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Cream at night instead. However between the two, I really love the Skin Therapy Oil Spray better mostly because the fast absorbing oil formula and lovely Rosehip fragrance. (Cocoa smell can be too overbearing)
Lucas’ Papaw Ointment
I bought this one on a whim because I was desperate for a really good lip balm. Since pregnant, I have dry cracked lips and I have been using plain white petroleum as a lip balm (Vaseline lip balm). However I felt that it did not last long and I had to constantly reapply throughout the day. That is until I found this miracle. It is not meant as a lip balm but it does work wonderfully well. Just a thin layer is needed and my lips are loving it. I use this religiously in the morning before lipstick and at night. It has the same consistency as normal Vaseline and has no scent at all. Love this a lot.
Sephora Super Regenerating Oil-serum
As I said because my skin is loving beauty oil nowadays, so I have been using Sephora Super Regenerating Oil-serum mainly after the night shower. This a sample size only but the pipette dispenses just enough amount for the whole face. This oil-serum is really moisturising and comfortable on the skin. I don’t feel any greasiness at all.
Love this as part of my night-time skin care routine.
Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask
I like using this as a skincare booster before I sleep or during weekends. I like that it moisturises and soothes my skin really well.
I have done a full review on this sheet mask-> Click HERE to read more abut it.
The Body Shop Apple Blossom EDT
I am more into soft, subtle fragrance and have been using The Body Shop Apple Blossom EDT especially for work. It is pretty unisex fragrance that it is not too floral or sweet. I like that there’s a musky undertone and it is not a strong overbearing fragrance.
It does not last long maybe about 4-6 hours only which is pretty great for me as my scent of smell is overly sensitive nowadays. But I still want to smell fresh and lovely on the start of the day.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Medium
In January I have trouble sleeping at night – only able to fall asleep late at 1+am (cause the baby likes to move a lot around 12midnight to 1am) and getting up 2-3 times to pee. To look fresh in the morning, I love using this particular concealer to erase the dark circles and look more awake.
It is creamy, blendable and not thick at all. It is the perfect concealer for the under-eyes area. I bought this in Singapore, and really wish that we can get this easily in Malaysia. I would recommend you to try this amazing concealer (if you can get your hands on these, huhu…)
Oh, have I told this concealer is great for covering spots on those lazy day too.
bareMinerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-balm
For lip colour, I really love these. I think I have mentioned them multiple times in my previous blog posts. Love how moisturising and yet pigmented these lip colours are.
They were in my Best of 2015 favs and I have shared my review & swatches in my Sephora Holiday set Haul.
I think I will continue using these Lip Oil-balm throughout February 2016 as well.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop
I received quite a few compliments on social media that I have that ‘pregnancy glow’ every time I post a #selfie on Instagram or Facebook. In my mind, I think the ‘glow’ is definitely due to using Becca’s Champagne Pop. I love the formula of this gorgeous highlighter so much.
On a daily basis, I would apply a little to give my skin a subtle glow. However if you want a more pronounced shimmering effect especially for that special occasion, you can definitely layer more product and it will blend into the skin beautifully.
