Gosh… The time just flew by. Sorry that I have been super busy lately. Before we move on to my August favourites, let me update on what has been happening to my life. The biggest reason for my lack of blog update is I have just moved to my own apartment. YAY!
We are so happy to finally settle in our own crib. We bought the property back in 2012 and have been waiting anxiously. I am now living in Putrajaya nearer to my workplace (YAY for not paying toll).
You guys definitely would understand the hassle of packing things (I have gathered lots of ‘harta’ for the last few years) and actually moving and unpacking. I have actually wanted since end of May. I used to live at my mother’s and in-law’s places (we sorta become nomad) travelling from both places back & forth. But then, Ramadhan arrived and then Raya month in July and we finally decided to move early August.
So obviously my beloved makeup collection and lots of things are in boxes. We didn’t have any internet connection, hence lack of blog posts from Cosmephilia. Today is the day we finally got our unlimited internet connection (YAY!), I finally have the time and resources to sit down and update my blog.
I have been wanting to do monthly favourites for the last 3-4 months. Due to the move, I ended up using the basic products in my travel makeup bag which I carries in my hand bag. So, this monthly (or should I say ‘few-monthly’) beauty favourites are from my daily makeup bag.
My August (and June and July too) Favourites
I gravitated using BB Cushion every morning or on-the-go as it is a simple press+dab+go base makeup routine for everyday use. I have a few BB Cushions that I own, but my current favourites are Chica Y Chico Matt Cushion (shade 23) and The Face Shop x My Other Bag (LV Bag) Oil Control Water Cushion (V203 Natural Beige). I also have It’s My Cushion D.I.Y BB Cushion which gives me a great match for my skin tone and type. Do look forward as I will share on own to make your very own D.i.Y BB Cushion in my future post.
I like ChiCa Y Chico Matt Cushion for effortless light to medium coverage matt finish. If I want a more semimatte yet slightly dewy finish, I will use The Face Shop x My Other Bag cushion instead.
Naked Skin Concealer in shade Medium Neutral
Yes, this is my favourite and will always be my go-to concealer as it is light weighted, blends well and works for everyday use. I don’t think I would find another concealer that works as good as this one. For those still searching for ‘the one’, try Naked Skin Concealer and you can find the perfect shade for you.
Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue palette (Medium/Tan)
This is my go-to palette for the last 3-4 months. I like that it is not truly neutral/brown shades kinda palette (which I usually will go for). I alternate between the two blushers (Mysterious for a shimmery peachy blush, Insipiring for matte blush colour). I have been using the main base colour Curious as an all-over colour almost everyday. I really like Feisty as crease/outer corner shades.
This palette is quite handy. But sometimes I do miss my Naked palette (really really love neutrals). Can’t wait to get my vanity set up.
Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette
I know this is a new release last month, but I just couldn’t wait to share with your guys. I must emphasise that I won’t regret purchasing the Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour palette even if it costed me >200+ bucks.
I use every single shade. Lyric to set under eyes, Levitation as subtle highlighter, mix Lucid and Subconcious as a all over setting powder. Shadowplay is my fav bronzing colour (as BB Cushion’s shade can be too fair for my skin tone). Sombre is the only contour you need in your life.
Benefit’s They’re Real mascara
I will bring the deluxe size everywhere in my hand bag. I have used the full size mascara every single day. It gives volume and lengthen the eyes and curling it at the same time. I like that I don’t have to use eyelash curler to get the same effect.
These last months really made me fell in love with the bristle design. The rounded tips is perfect to dispense mascara to coat every little tiny eyelashes.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color in 630 Seduction
For the past 3 months I was more into matte neutral lips. This is a really good hydrating formula liquid lipstick but it is definitely not matte. Now sure why the formula doesn’t even dry down to matte. But it smells vanilla nice and looks good on my lips.
I am not sure whether this is really a dupe for Kylie Jenner’s lip product but I really like the nudish pink shade.
The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Committed
Oh My Gosh… despite the price, I am so in love with this liquid matte lips colour. The shade is a beautiful neutral brown+pink+hint of coral colour that looks really good with my skin tone. It dries into a matte colour that looks sophisticated. My absolute love over July and August.
One of the ingredient is peppermint oil that is really hydrating, hence the smell and taste is rather minty, which I don’t mind at all. But for those who dislike overbearing scent in their lip product should smell this in Sasa store before actually buying one.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Lolita and Lolita II
The KVD liquid lipsticks are amazing! The formulation is smooth and yet opaque. Only one swipe and you’ll get a true colour of the product. The applicator is a fine, brush tip that is small enough for me to apply the liquid lipstick precisely without a lip liner. Really impressed with the formulation during actual application.
It dries to a matte finish within seconds and absolutely waterproof, sweat proof and kiss proof. Lasted a whole day on me and I totally agrees why all other beauty gurus love KVD liquid lipstick. These are simply amazing.
Lolita is a brownish nude that is slightly darker hence definitely 90s inspired lip colour. Lolita II is a brighter peachy tone brown that is really good for day time. I love both shades interchangeably. Can’t really choose which of the two is my absolute favourite.
So these are my beauty favourites of the month(s). I am sorry for not updating my blog in a while but we are very happy to finally move into our own place. My makeup stash are all over the place. Let us hope that I can get my own vanity set up as quickly as possible so I can share more of my beauty favourites next month.
