Hello! It is ain’t a Monday Blues for me today as it is Christmas this week and I took leave from work for a week. Public holiday is just another reason for me to take some time off.

Today I’m going to review My Beauty Diary Pearl Powder Mask. My Beauty Diary is a popular Taiwanese brand for sheet masks. I have always love their masks.
This one contains pearl powder essence which is good for whitening, brightening, nourishing and repairing effect.

ANALYSIS

Packaging:
It is a small simple plastic packaging containing one sheet mask. It is easy to rip open the packaging to reveal a folded white sheet mask drenched in essence.

Texture
The sheet mask is white in colour with colourless essence. The essence has a refreshing and floral scent. The sheet mask is not too thick or thin that it is easily break. The essence is light fluid like consistency.

Application
As I unfolding the sheet mask, essence runs through my fingers showing that It is rasher too fluidy. The sheet mask sits perfectly  do the contour of my face. It doesn’t sting my skin at all. As it dries, I can feel tightening of my skin. My skin feels hydrated and looks brighter after wearing the mask.

Verdict
I love the simplicity of this mask. The packaging is small easy to bring with my travel bag. The sheet mask fits perfectly. The essence is watery, absorbs well and has a nice floral fragrance. I love to lie down relaxing while sniffing the refreshing scent of the mask.
I purchased this mask in a set. Can’t wait to try the other essence in the pack.

Maskin’ Monday: Sephora Natural Therapy Mask (Green Tea)

Hello lovelies,
Today I’m going to review the NEW Sephora Natural Therapy Masks which just released this month, October 2013. Sephora Malaysia is the first retailer to launch them in South East Asia.
Quoting from their facebook page, the Sephora Natural Therapy Masks have a range of 10 delicious and therapeutics flavours, made with unique natural active ingredients to complement your mood and combat daily skin concerns.
Having the white card membership, I received an email to pick up a free mask exclusive from Sephora. I was so excited as I’m a mask junkie, to receive one for FREE is like eating the icing on the cake.
These are the first Sephora sheet masks.
I had to tell the Sephora girls which top 3 flavours that I most interested on. It was Rose, Pearl and Green Tea. I received 1 sheet of Sephora Natural Therapy Green Tea mask.

On the packaging, Green Tea mask is made of natural green tea leaf extract made in Spain whichexcellent  for mattifying & anti-blemish properties.
Moving on to the review…
ANALYSIS

Packaging:
The packaging is eye-catching bright coloured discs. There are circular outer paper packaging with ingredient list and contains semi circle plastic packaging which contains the actual mask. One mask contains 25g / 0.88 oz of essence.
It is easy to peel of the edge of packaging seal. Inside there’s a folded mask into a quarter.

Fitting:
It take me a few minutes to unfold the mask as its pretty stuck together when folded. There is a dented ‘S’ design on the fabric, which intrigue me a little. To me, the mask doesn’t fit me at all. It is too wide that the horizontal edges cover both of my ear but not fully. I do feel like I have extra ears flapping over the side of the face and I don’t really like this. Otherwise, the hole for the eyes, nose and mouth fits nicely.

Textured mask fabric

Texture:
The essence is transparent in colour and has a this weird green tea smell.
The consistency of the essence is thin with light viscosity.
Application:
There is immediate fresh, cooling feelings when you first put it on. After 30 mins the mask is still fresh and not dried out at all. After removing the mask my skin felt soft, hydrated and fresh. I then rubbed the essence into my skin in circular motions and essence absorbed well
Verdict:
This rainbow- coloured masks have great packaging however I’m disappointed that the mask doesn’t fits well. Who would want an ‘elephant ears’ flapping on the side of one face.  It is a well moisturising scented mask. My skin does feels hydrated after application. However, I don’t feel that Sephora would give me THE luxurious feel of wearing facial mask if compared to asian-brand sheet masks.
The Sephora Natural Therapy Masks is priced at RM10 for single sheet and RM40 for 5 piece pack.
They’re available at your nearest Sephora boutique.

Maskin’ Monday: Sasatinnie Paraffin Foot Mask

Hello…Hi..Excuse my hiatus, but i’m back!

Let’s just start with my Maskin’ Monday review. As you all know i love sheet masks.
This time i would like to share my experience wearing foot sheet mask.

I bought this at Sasa. They were having a sale of 2 masks for the price of one. I picked up the Sasatinnie Paraffin foot mask along with the hand mask in the same line.
However, I have not tried the hand mask yet.

This mask contains one pair of foot mask and contains  15g / 0.53 fl oz of essence.

On the packaging it was written
“Moisture boost Paraffin foot mask. Your feet needs to drink water too”

-_-”’ I know… I know… My feet would have any ‘mouth’ or ‘hole’ to drink water. I take it as a cheesy tag line instead.

Moving on…

ANALYSIS

Packaging:
The packaging is a simple aluminium packet with pink colour design. It is rather sturdy and hard to tear up the aluminum foil. Inside there is a pair of half plastic half sheet boot shape mask drenched in essence.
My first impression is “Hmmm…this is not too bad”. It is quite easy for me to unfold the sheet mask. The essence is inside the folded boot mask. There’s double layer of plastic where the is a thicker plastic outside which is dry.

Fitting:
I have a size 6 feet. The ‘boot’ feet mask is quite large considering they wanted to accomodate larger sized feet. I wore the mask like I put on real boots. I can easily insert my foot into each mask easily.  The length of the mask is up to 4cm above my ankle. So, yeah pretty huge.
Texture:
The essence is fluidy, clear in colour and has no fragrance. I was expecting a thicker consistency since this mask is for thick-skinned feet. However, the viscosity is pretty light, More suitable for face mask.
Application:
In the instruction, we supposed to wear the mask for 20 mins., so I did.  It felt cooling while wearing the mask. I didn’t step on the mask, I just lie down on my bed as I’m afraid that the mask might fell off my feet. Within the 20min the mask is not drying at all. After removing the mask my feet felt hydrated and no sticky feeling at all. I rubbed the essence up to my calf after I removed the mask. Both of my feet felt rejuvenated. Sadly not for long. After 10-15mins or so, my feet felt dry but the cooling sensation stayed on for a long time.
Verdict:
This is my first time wearing foot mask. The mask is cooling but it didn’t give me the “oh, my feet just drink a fountain of water kind-a-feeling’. It is slightly hydrating but boy, my feet do feel cool and refreshed. I did apply a foot cream (my favourite is Ellgy) afterwards as I feel that my feet needs more pampering after wearing the mask.
This is a cheap mask however I think I wouldn’t repurchase it next time.

Now I have a mixed (more negative) feeling on the paraffin hand mask. Eeeek!
Comment below if you want to read my review on the hand mask.

Maskin’ Monday: Nature & co Vital Purity Lift Mask

ANALYSIS

Packaging:
As this is only a sample, the packaging is basic, small packet contains mud mask. The design is flowery with lilac coloured background. I received this sample in my Vanity Trove. Not too sure what is the full sized packaging for  this mask.
Texture: This mud mask is thick in consistency. Easy to apply and not runny at all. I apply this with a face brush to ensure even thickness and all skin surface are cover. The mask is white in colour and have no fragrance/scent.
Application: I scrubbed my face with my favourite St. Ives’s Apricot scrub first. Then I apply the mask, thicker at under the eyes area where I already have wrinkles and also at frown, crow’s feet area. This mask doesn’t sting my skin at all. As it dries, I can feel tightening of my skin.
I leave it on for about 30minutes. By 15 mins the mask already dried out at the thin area. Like normal mud mask it cracked as it dries. But I can still feel the tightening and firming effect of the ask even if it dried out.

Verdict:
This mask does what it says. As antiaging mask, it does tighten and lift the facial skin.
Its thick consistency makes this mask easy to apply and stay on the skin. While wearing the mask I can easily moves around doing some housechores without the fear that the mask may slip and slide.
This is one good tightening/ lifting mask.

Maskin’ Monday : Providencé Beauty Watermelon mask.

Today I’m going to review  Watermelon Hydrating & Tender Mask from Providencé Beauty.

ANALYSIS

Packaging:
The packaging is simple and cute. Fun, bright colours. The edge of packaging seal tight. Easy to strip open but still sturdy.

Fitting:
The sheet mask fits nicely over my face. However, the space between my nose and upper lip is thick and unconfortable to wear. I streched the part to accommodate. Only then, I feel that I can breath. but it doesn’t bother me much. The sheet mask is pretty thin and stretchable.

Texture:
The essence is light, off white in colour and has a fresh smelling.
I was expecting a watermelon scent but unfortuinately it isn’t so. The consistency of the essence is watery, its viscosity is very light.

Application:
When I first put the mask on my face, there is immediate fresh, cooling feelings.  I leave it on for 20 min. The mask dried out after 20 min.  After removing the mask my skin felt fresh and hydrated.  However, my skin dries out after about 1 hour or so.

Verdict:
This mask is hydrating however, I am a bit dissappointed that the moisturising effect doesn’t last long. I would really like it if the mask have a fruity fresh scent as I find scent is part of the mini aromatherapy spa at home.

Maskin’ Monday: Touch in SOL Sweet Honey Mask

I’m a mask addict. Current obsession is sheet mask of course. Because of my busy schedule and long working hours, my skin is often dehydrated and damaged need more TLC then usual.

My skin is not perfect, prone to adult acne and blemishes but its much better now. I used to have hideous acne, scarring and hyperpigmention.  Scars are still there but fading. Personally I found wearing mask do help with treating skin, deeply nourishing it.

Since I’m using lots of mask, I’ve decided to start a weekly review on masks hence the title: “Maskin’ Monday”.
My first review is on  Touch in SOL Sweet Honey  sheet mask. Got this at Watson for RM 5.90 per sheet.
One sheet mask contains 21ml / 0.74 fl oz of essence.
On the packaging it claims
“to replenishes and revitalises skin, restoring its natural suppleness and moisture levels while alleviating and soothing soreness, redness and cracking. Ultimate lift collagen from milk is perfect for a mini express facial, to cool, tighten and refresh skin”
ANALYSIS
Packaging:
The packaging is simple, cute design with high quality plastic wrapping. Not so flimsy.
When I unwrap the mask in come out folded and there’s no plastic sheet folded together with the cloth. I like it this way as the plastic layer doesn’t interfere with the actually sheet mask when I’m infolding. The sheet mask also unfolded easily. Not tearing at all.
Fitting:
The sheet mask fits perfectly over my face. The space between my nose and upper lip is slightly thicker but it doesn’t bother me much. The thickness of sheet mask is adequate, and it is slightly stretchable.
Texture:
The essence is watery, clear in colour and has a super sweet smelling.
The consistency of the essence is gel like, viscosity is light.
Application:
I wore the mask for 30 min. Its cooling and felt hydrating. Within the 20min the mask is not drying at all. I love the sweet smelling essence. After removing the mask my skin felt hydrated, not oily and no sticky feeling at all. My cheeks felt supple and looks much rejuvenated.
Verdict:
Moisturising and hydrating. Sweet smelling. Much needed treatment for mini spa session at home. Overall its a great mask at a affordable price.
