Iftar makeup look

I was invited by a medical technology company for iftar at Summer Palace, Marriot Hotel in Putrajaya.
Below is a mini tutorial if the simple iftar look that still looks good for that special occasion. It was a dinner in a fancy restaurant after all.
1. Conceal imperfections and brighten under eye circle.
I’m using Revlon Photoready concealer in  medium.
2. Apply lightweighted foundation and blend into the skin using a good brush. First I dot foundation all iver my face and buff the foundation with my favourite Sigma round kabuki brush.
Foundation: Loreal True Match Foundation in Amber
3. After that, I set the base makeup with powder, swirled it lightly all over the face.
I’m using Revlon Photoready powder foundation

4. Then, I fill in the brows with soft brown waxy brow pencil. Small short strokes for a natural look.
Maybelline eyebrow pencil in Brown
5. After applying eye primer, sweep shimmery pink eyeshadow as a base all over the upper lid up to the creases.
6. Then using a small flat shader brush, pat bronze eyeshadow colour to the outer V.
7. Using a pencil brush, blend in dark brown eyeshadow to intensify the outer half of upper lid. Extend dark brown eyeshadow to the outer 1/3rd of lower lids just above the lash line.
Product used: Elianto eyeprimer, Sleek Original palette (shimmery pink and bronze) and Silky girl Duo eyeshadow in Mocha
8. Complete the eye makeup with black liquid eyeliner. I’m using K palette liquid eyeliner pen.
9. Also curl eyelashes and apply generous coats of volumising black mascara. I love waterproof mascara as it tends to hold curls longer. Give some love to the bottom lashes too.
Product used: Maybelline the Falsies Mascara
10. Sweep across shimmering pink blush to the apple of cheeks. Buff on highlighter on the top of cheek bone and just below the brow bone for a more contoured  face.
11. Finish off with a swipe (or two) of a cherry pink lip gloss.
Products used: Sleek faceform in Fair & Loreal Carrese lip gloss/ stain.
And…. We’re done. I love how this turned out. Sweet look for iftar.

Maskin’ Monday: Nature & co Vital Purity Lift Mask

ANALYSIS

Packaging:
As this is only a sample, the packaging is basic, small packet contains mud mask. The design is flowery with lilac coloured background. I received this sample in my Vanity Trove. Not too sure what is the full sized packaging for  this mask.
Texture: This mud mask is thick in consistency. Easy to apply and not runny at all. I apply this with a face brush to ensure even thickness and all skin surface are cover. The mask is white in colour and have no fragrance/scent.
Application: I scrubbed my face with my favourite St. Ives’s Apricot scrub first. Then I apply the mask, thicker at under the eyes area where I already have wrinkles and also at frown, crow’s feet area. This mask doesn’t sting my skin at all. As it dries, I can feel tightening of my skin.
I leave it on for about 30minutes. By 15 mins the mask already dried out at the thin area. Like normal mud mask it cracked as it dries. But I can still feel the tightening and firming effect of the ask even if it dried out.

Verdict:
This mask does what it says. As antiaging mask, it does tighten and lift the facial skin.
Its thick consistency makes this mask easy to apply and stay on the skin. While wearing the mask I can easily moves around doing some housechores without the fear that the mask may slip and slide.
This is one good tightening/ lifting mask.

Super awesome birthday present

I’ve just received this from my bestie, Siti Dalilah for my birthday. As doctors, we’re both superbusy but managed to finally catch up. Thank you Ct!

I love love love them! *dreams came true*

Benefit’s Sugarlicious lip & cheek kit
It contains:
– Benetint
– High Beam
– Sugarbomb flush and mini brush
– Sugarbomb lip gloss
Loccitane’s shea butter Hand and Foot Cream

Maskin’ Monday : Providencé Beauty Watermelon mask.

Today I’m going to review  Watermelon Hydrating & Tender Mask from Providencé Beauty.

ANALYSIS

Packaging:
The packaging is simple and cute. Fun, bright colours. The edge of packaging seal tight. Easy to strip open but still sturdy.

Fitting:
The sheet mask fits nicely over my face. However, the space between my nose and upper lip is thick and unconfortable to wear. I streched the part to accommodate. Only then, I feel that I can breath. but it doesn’t bother me much. The sheet mask is pretty thin and stretchable.

Texture:
The essence is light, off white in colour and has a fresh smelling.
I was expecting a watermelon scent but unfortuinately it isn’t so. The consistency of the essence is watery, its viscosity is very light.

Application:
When I first put the mask on my face, there is immediate fresh, cooling feelings.  I leave it on for 20 min. The mask dried out after 20 min.  After removing the mask my skin felt fresh and hydrated.  However, my skin dries out after about 1 hour or so.

Verdict:
This mask is hydrating however, I am a bit dissappointed that the moisturising effect doesn’t last long. I would really like it if the mask have a fruity fresh scent as I find scent is part of the mini aromatherapy spa at home.

Maskin’ Monday: Touch in SOL Sweet Honey Mask

I’m a mask addict. Current obsession is sheet mask of course. Because of my busy schedule and long working hours, my skin is often dehydrated and damaged need more TLC then usual.

My skin is not perfect, prone to adult acne and blemishes but its much better now. I used to have hideous acne, scarring and hyperpigmention.  Scars are still there but fading. Personally I found wearing mask do help with treating skin, deeply nourishing it.

Since I’m using lots of mask, I’ve decided to start a weekly review on masks hence the title: “Maskin’ Monday”.
My first review is on  Touch in SOL Sweet Honey  sheet mask. Got this at Watson for RM 5.90 per sheet.
One sheet mask contains 21ml / 0.74 fl oz of essence.
On the packaging it claims
“to replenishes and revitalises skin, restoring its natural suppleness and moisture levels while alleviating and soothing soreness, redness and cracking. Ultimate lift collagen from milk is perfect for a mini express facial, to cool, tighten and refresh skin”
ANALYSIS
Packaging:
The packaging is simple, cute design with high quality plastic wrapping. Not so flimsy.
When I unwrap the mask in come out folded and there’s no plastic sheet folded together with the cloth. I like it this way as the plastic layer doesn’t interfere with the actually sheet mask when I’m infolding. The sheet mask also unfolded easily. Not tearing at all.
Fitting:
The sheet mask fits perfectly over my face. The space between my nose and upper lip is slightly thicker but it doesn’t bother me much. The thickness of sheet mask is adequate, and it is slightly stretchable.
Texture:
The essence is watery, clear in colour and has a super sweet smelling.
The consistency of the essence is gel like, viscosity is light.
Application:
I wore the mask for 30 min. Its cooling and felt hydrating. Within the 20min the mask is not drying at all. I love the sweet smelling essence. After removing the mask my skin felt hydrated, not oily and no sticky feeling at all. My cheeks felt supple and looks much rejuvenated.
Verdict:
Moisturising and hydrating. Sweet smelling. Much needed treatment for mini spa session at home. Overall its a great mask at a affordable price.

Birthday Haul

It’s my birthday this month and I’ve received a few birthday coupons and gifts. The a few things that I bought to celebrate too. In this post I would like to show u guys my birthday haul!

This year is somewhat a bittersweet year for me as I’m 29 years old and soon be upgrade to the 3 series. And it is a HUGE deal for a girl. I’m realising that people would now always call me “Kak” and wrinkles are in-escapable. *sigh…*

Lets move on to my birthday haul. I’m so excited that I received a few birthday/discount coupons this year. They’re from AEON, Padini, Sephora etc. This is the acclumulation of my haul from the entire month.
My first purchase is from SaSa (love this store). I bought Color Combos Hydrating makeup remover and Instant eye makeup remover combo. These are 30% off. The girl in SaSa also convinced me to try on a new BB cream: Cyber Colors Brightense Duo White Essence BB cream. It has SPF 25 PA++. 30% off too.  I got additional 5% off for my purchase on my birthday month.
They are even kindly enough to give me a samples of Dr. Jart’s Blemiah base and Shill’s Bio- Active DNA essence.

Cyber Colors Duo White Essence BB cream. The twirling pattern is so cute! Reminds me of Stila’s BB cream

Next is a birthday gift from Sephora. I received a travel size makeup palette. They named it Mini Handbag Palette.

I think pretty cute. It has a peachy blush colour, 4 eye shadows in neutral shades and 2 lip gloss in coral and peach colour.
This ia great for quick touch up or for travel. It doesn’t include amy brush or applicator but it doesn’t bother me anyway since I like to use my own brush or (clean) fingers.
While I’m in Sephora, I also got a double point on purchases with the birthday coupon. I also got another 10% discount coupon. I picked up this Sephora’s daily makeup brush cleaner.
Urban Decay’s Naked Flushed palette. Love the pigmentationof these product!
And lastly NYX lip cream in Antwerp – my new obsession!

Next we’ve got brushes…

Shins has finally restock the Real Technique brushws and I went a little cray-cray with the brushes. This are my birthday gift for my self. So excited that I finally get my hands on the Blush brush. I also bought the new expert face brush and the large, fluffy powder brush. As you can see, I already use them and am so in love. The prices are not super expensive. Really makes the makeup application effortless but flawless.
Lastly are these gorgeous Victoria Secret perfume range. These actually birthday gift from Mr. Husband ( I love you sweetheart). I’ve been eyeing on VS products for a while, really happy to get this. They were having a sale 3 items for RM120. I’ve Simply Breathless eau de parfum (freesia & mandarin), Secret Charm body butter (honeysuckle & jasmine) and Endless Love body mist (apple blossom & ylang ylang). All frangances I picked up are fruity, floral and sweet scent just because I’m in the spring/summer mood. (But hey, its always summer here in Malaysia).

And that’s the end of my birthday haul.
😀 😀 😀
